Back from the Fire Rescue trade show

Nov9 and 10th we were in Las Vegas at the Fire Rescue trade show in Las Vegas. It might be surprising to you to realize the wide range of industries that already use call recording solutions of some sort. Firefighters, ambulance operators and other emergency rescue personnel are required by law to record their calls and have used call recording for some time. Most of the firefighters we talked to at the show use dispatch centers that take care of the call recording, however many fire stations and ambulance services do their own call recording. To prepare for the trade show I called several of our existing firefighting and ambulance customers to ask them why they did call recording. It was interesting to note that these customers stated that the main reason they recorded their calls was not legal compliance but to improve communication accuracy. In firefighting and rescue work what is said can be the difference between life and death, and making sure information is communicated accurately and completely is very important. The ability to quickly and easily pull up any phone or radio call and listen to it again or forward it to someone else by email are invaluable. So when we went to the show we came with the headline “Could you buy your crew a perfect memory? Sure, ask us how!” The show was small, but we met some great guys and even a couple of prospective resellers among the other exhibitors.
